Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is Stooping?

Stooping is the act of bending down to pick things up. Our goal is to keep useful items out of the landfill by giving them a second life in new homes.

Why is everything $0.00 on the website?

Everything is free so everyone can benefit. We prioritize accessibility and equity.

Where do items come from?

We get still-usable household items from community donations, curbside finds and unsold local business inventory.

Are the items clean?

Yes. We do our best to clean every item before they’re listed.

How many things can I order?

There’s a limit of 10 items per order. We want to make our store accessible for as many people as possible.

When will I receive my order?

We aim to have your order ready in 1-2 days. You’ll receive a notification via text and/or email with pickup location and details. Please pick up your order promptly; due to space constraints, we’ll hold your order for three days before relisting the item(s).

Do you ship orders?

No. Local pickup only

How do I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order before pickup by contacting us through our contact form, emailing oaklandstooping@gmail.com, or texting a team member.

Do you accept returns?

No, all transactions are final.

What items can I donate?

We accept gently used, unwanted, or new household items. As a student-run service, we reserve the right to refuse anything inappropriate.

Do you accept large items, such as furniture?

While we don’t accept large items, we can list them on our website. If a customer orders your large item, they’ll pick it up directly from your location.
